Connecting an HAI security system to the Cortexa is simple and straightforward. To integrate the system, the following will be needed:

• The Master HAI Password (1st password in the password list)
• HAI Model 21A05-2 OmniLT Serial Cable Kit
• A serial cable or CAT 5 cable to extend from the serial cable kit connected to the HAI to the Cortexa

Currently, Cortexa integration to all HAI Security systems is through a serial interface. Through the serial interface, existing lights and thermostats already connected via the HAI can also be controlled.

Instructions:

1. With the HAI powered down, connect the Serial cable kit to the 4 conductor jack in the upper left hand corner of the Omni LT panel. Power the HAI panel up.
2. Connect the DB-9 female connector to the Cortexa or to an extension serial cable that is then plugged into the Cortexa.
3. Identify into what port the serial cable is connected to the Cortexa
4. On the Cortexa, Navigate to Subsystem Setup (under setup options). Find the row labeled Security, select the appropriate COM port (identified in Step 3), select the appropriate Security System (Omni LT) and enter the HAI master password (default: 1111).
5. Click Save at the bottom of the subsystem setup page
6. Click on the Cortexa Logs and confirm that Security: HAI Logged into successfully appears (conversely, make sure that HAI login failure does not appear)
7. Navigate to the Security Manager. Click Get Zones. The Cortexa will now download HAI zone information from the HAI. Do not click Put information as the Cortexa will overwrite information stored in the HAI. If put information is clicked, the zone names may be erased.
8. Once the zone information is downloaded, the HAI security system is setup for basic use.

Note: the default baud rate is used for the HAI Omni Security systems. Therefore, do not change the baud rate on the HAI security systems from the default rate.
